Smart City – Regional Governance for Sustainability

Title

Smart City – Regional Governance for Sustainability

Founder

  • RSA Research Network

The aim of the project

  • Bringing together both expert research dealing with the topic of ‘smart cities’, and policy makers who implement these concepts and approaches;
  • bringing about a meeting of different understanding of ‘smartness’ in terms of:
    – varying policy fields and agendas;
    – different conceptual approaches;
    – different place-specific contexts for applying ‘smartness’.
  • investigating the problem whether the development of ‘smart’ cities and city regions for higher competitiveness is a part of, or alternative to, the idea of a cohesive, sustainably organize and operating society and state territory;
  • exploring the problem of acceptance of unevenness in development prospects as the new political/normative reality.
