Professor Iwona Sagan in the Committee for Spatial Economy and Regional Planning

Professor Iwona Sagan received the nomination for a member of the Committee for Spatial Economy and Regional Planning at the Presidium of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The ceremony was held in Warsaw on March 1, 2019. It was hosted by Professor Jerzy Duszyński, Chairman of the Presidium of the Polish Academy of Science.

The Committee consists of more than forty representatives of the science community as well as public administration. It is a consultative and advisory entity, but its recommendations are reflected, e.g., in the directions of national development policy. The tasks of the Committee include conducting scientific and consultative activity regarding 1) regional and national strategic&spatial planning within the dimensions of the European Union cohesion policy; 2) institutional and legal aspects of integrated planning in functional and spatial systems at the European, national and regional level.

Professor Iwona Sagan has been a member of the Committee since 2011 (in the 2011-2014 and 2015-2018 terms). She has been involved in the activities of the Working Team for Urban and Metropolitan Areas.
