Public health and places where we live

This event was organised by the interdisciplinary research organisation AMPS (Architecture, Media, Politics, Society) together with the University of the West of England. The main subject of the event was health and its relationship with the place where we live. The speeches concerned a very wide range of issues related to the health from architecture, spatial planning, health policy to environmental and social aspects. Dr Joanna Stępień delivered a lecture entitled “The role of local governments in solving health problems of local communities in post-transitional Poland” in one of the thematic sessions on planning and health policy in urban areas.

The conference was a unique opportunity to exchange experiences in health researches by representatives of various research disciplines, as well as employees of health institutions, practitioners from the non-governmental
sector and local communities.
